Bad Choice Of Whipping Boys

I'm not all that broken up about Elizabeth Dole losing to Kay Hagan. Yes, it's another step closer to the Democrats winning total control of the Senate. And no, I'm not a fan of one-party rule -- particularly when that party is the Democrats. Experience has taught me that when Democrats take power without any kind of a check, they tend to corrupt very easily.

But at the same time, of all the Republicans who deserved to lose this time around, Dole was it. Shame on you, Senator Dole, for making atheists your whipping boys. You deserve to be thrown out of office for presuming to tell those North Carolinans with whom you so rarely deign to cohabitate that the biggest issue they faced was taking "In God We Trust" off of their money. See, they have to have money in the first place for that to matter!

As I write, the networks have called Ohio, Iowa and New Mexico for Obama. That being the case, the results in Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina, Missouri, and Florida aren't going to matter. McCain has no chance of taking California, Oregon, Hawaii, or Warshington, so that means it's over; Barack Obama will be the 44th President of the United States.

What, does this surprise you somehow?
