Hazard of the Profession

I got sued today.

The lawsuit was filed way back in April, and the defendant finally got around to serving me today. It's a small claims suit, filed by an eviction defendant from last year. The defendant just doesn't get it. As you might imagine, I'm not particularly worried about the merits of the lawsuit. But it's very annoying nevertheless; I'll have to devote an entire morning to the thing because whatever pro tem judge is hearing small claims cases that morning will not be able to hear my case, since I'm an attorney, and that means the clerks will have to scramble around and find an elected judge to decide if I wrongfully evicted this woman or not.
