Autumn

Autumn in Tennessee moves through three phases: early, peak, and decline. In the early phase, the evenings start to cool and the weather dries out. In the peak phase, the leaves turn brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows. In the decline, it stays cool and the trees shed their leaves. We've had a very short peak phase this year; it lasted less than a week. The foliage is dying; regular frost has killed all the grass and the trees are becoming bare. A little disappointing but not much you can do about the weather.
