A candidate for the Republican National Committee circulated to his friends a CD of political parody songs, including one entitled "Barack The Magic Negro." While noting that on more than one occasion, people on the left side of the aisle have cried "racist" to anything that right-wingers do that even mentions race, Rick Moran asks the question, "Is this racist?"
Yes. Yes, it is.

Have you heard the song, or are you just jumping to conclusions based on the title (which is a reference to this LA Times editorial)?
Read the lyrics and decide for yourself. As far as I can tell, it's an easy call -- especially given that it was written by a white guy.
A couple things:
1. Most of the lyric was based on the editorial, which was written by a black guy.
2. I don't know if you've heard the song (it's on YouTube), but the singer is supposed to be Al Sharpton.
3. The targets of the satire are Al Sharpton and white people who view Obama as a Magic Negro, not Obama or black people in general.
