Guppies transplanted from a predator-free environment to one in which they were potentially food for other animals were able to alter their reproductive output by significant margins within about twenty generations. For guppies, that's only about eight years.
If you find the idiocy of Ray Comfort persuasive, you'll dismiss this remarkable demonstration of evolution in action as a "mere adaptation." But if you take the time to understand that adaptation is evolution, this is all the proof you'll need.
