I have grown weary of all the blog-spam that I'm getting here. Many of you Loyal Readers prefer to leave comments anonymously, and I have no problem with that, but permitting anonymous comments appears to invite spam blasts.

So the good folks who host the blogger site have come up with a way to permit anonymous posts and deter spam -- but unfortunately it means that if you want to leave a comment (and I encourage and enjoy comments) you will need to go through a short extra step -- reading a little graphic file which will give you sort of an "instant password" before your comment will post.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Keep those cards and letters coming in, folks!

I had to do the same thing on my comments! Spam is whack!

An extremely minor inconvenience. Hey, not that this has anything to do with anything, but did you see that new show, "Head Cases," about two bright, youngish guy lawyers who go into business together in a SoCal Beach town? (The Venice boardwalk, no less.) One is an earnest but uptight refugee from corporate litigation. The other is a bellicose, mercurial semi-psycho who provides dark comic relief. To spice things up, they both are being treated for mental health issues.

They're behind the times. When will this "reality TV" trend come to an end? The only thing different about that is that we probably should have been getting treatment.
