Pennies...
...should be abolished. They cause more trouble than they're worth, and a penny has become a trifling amount of money. If everything were priced in nickels, it would only be a few weeks before no one would notice the difference.

Germany abolished pennies (Pfennige) back in the early nineties. I went into an office supply store one time, and by some computer fluke at the register, the cashier owed me 2 Deustchmarks and 1 Pfennig in change, and she freaked out because she didn't have any Pfennige in her cash drawer. I told her to not lose any sleep over it.
On the occasions I visit the Netherlands, I have noticed that prices and tills still work in pennies (or should I say eurocents) but are all automatically rounded to the nearest 5c. No-one carries anything smaller than a 5c coin.
