Bud Light Uses Porn To Market Itself

The commercial is hilarious in the way only beer commercials can be. Wrong on every level. Not safe for work. Inappropriate for children (and also teenagers, and also adults, and also pretty much anyone at all). So of course I'll embed it right here for your viewing pleasure since I know you won't be able to resist playing it at work right when the boss comes around your cubicle:


If this had been in a Will Ferrell, Farrelley Brothers, or Judd Apatow movie, it would be a standout sequence.

Now, I'm not sure that this is quite the image that the manufacturer wants to associate with its product, but like many products, beer is often sold simply by brand awareness, so mentioning the product anywhere in something that stands out in the memory is the real goal of the advertisement. So it gets a thumbs-up there, too. Time Magazine says that it's actually been available on the Net since February but only recently gone viral enough to reach the public radar.

In any event, it's a very funny bit of commercial storytelling. One you won't see on television but can see here.

  1. That is unbelievably funny. Unfortunately, it does not change the fact that Bud Light tastes like a watered-down diluted under-hopped malt beverage. (aka melted yellow snow)

    I prefer a good craft-brewed IPA or heffeweizen. But that's just me.
