I don't think that children need to look in a dictionary to know what a blog is. But they might need to do that in order to know what a bishop or a cathedral is. Which is why I think this is a very sad development -- certain words relating to Christianity and the monarchy are being taken out of dictionaries aimed at children in the UK. This is doing these children a disservice. Christianity may be a myth, and the British monarchy may be an anachronism, but they are integral features of the cultural heritage of the western world. Kids should learn about what these things are.
