Read, if you dare, a
compelling illustration of how religion, child abuse, and rank bigotry can be melded together and glossed over by a congregation that sees only an outward expression of piety rather than a rotten core. The worst sort of abuse the author was subjected to was the warping of her mind as a young girl. Her escape and subsequent self-creation was clearly a remarkable feat. As the wry saying goes, "Thank God I'm an atheist!"
