Another Dead Musician

I remember as a teenager I liked Jeff Healey’s blues-rock album. The kid from Canada, struck with blindness since he was one year old, who taught himself how to play guitar, was such a good story, and the album was so strong, it seemed a wonder to me that it didn’t fly off the charts. That was when I first realized that maybe the audience for blues music was narrower than I had thought. And, he got notoriety as the musician in the famously-awful movie Road House. Apparently he decided to play jazz instead of blues and I don’t follow jazz very much (sorry, Pam; I want to see you excel in your chosen path and support you as much as I can, but you know that I've never made a secret of the fact that I just don’t get jazz). I’d wondered from time to time what happened to him, though – and it was kind of sad to see that he died today. That isn't how I wanted to learn about his career status.
