Conservatives for Freedom

Now, this is quite interesting. These guys are saying things I have been saying for a long time – that we as a nation are yet rich and powerful enough to have both liberty and security, and that real conservatives and people worthy of positions of political leadership can find a way to prosecute our efforts to eradicate our enemies without violating the Constitution in the process. Apparently Mitt Romney refused to sign their pledge and was rewarding with an excoriating press release condemning him as ignorant of conservative principles.

My strong suspicion is that Rudy Giuliani will be the focus of the group’s attention next. They picked Romney first because they thought he'd want to sign the pledge to beef up his credibility with conservatives; Giuliani seems like a likely next target. I'll be watching with great interest to see how Hizzoner reacts to this.
